FINDON VILLAGE STORE AND POST OFFICE

Findon’s Village Store and Post Office is owned and run by the community. When the shop, an integral part of the village for over 100 years, closed with no warning in May 2017 and went to auction, the village rallied.  For more on the  rescue of the store check out the ‘About Us’ page in the ‘About’ section on this website.

The Village Store is open seven days a week: Monday to Saturday 7am-7pm, and Sunday 7am -12pm.  The Post Office is open longer hours than most: Monday-Saturday 8.30-5.30pm, and Sunday 8.30am-12pm. 

The Village Store provides everyday essentials such as milk, bread, newspapers, tea and coffee etc. It also stocks an extensive range of other grocery items, wines, beers and spirits, greeting cards and local produce.

We are able to offer a number of services to local residents.  We will deliver if you are unable to get to the shop (subject to a minimum order), especially over the cold and icy winter months.  We also have a newspaper round (yes, lots of people still like to read a paper copy!).

The Post Office provides all the normal facilities covered by sub-Post Offices, including cash withdrawals,  currency exchange and cash deposits. 

There’s always a warm welcome and a friendly face to greet you.  Angus (the most enthusiastic Newcastle United fan on this planet) manages the Store, ably assisted by his deputy, Helen, and supported by a team of Post Office staff: Jacqui, Vivien and Sue.  About 30 volunteers help in the shop, and more behind the scenes.
